This month's accomplishments (December 2001)
- Created the Undergraduate Cohort Report based on information from
the Registrar's Office.
- Modified the Financial Aid President's Report for Betsy Hicks.
- Created a Graduate indebtedness Report.
- Fixed the problem with duplicate award records for aid year 1999.
- Prototyped and delivered new Legal Queries with coding to the
Senior Counsel's Office.
- Complete 2nd data modeling session with the Libraries.
- Helped coordinate & schedule upgrade of the warehouse computer's
operating system.
- Added Directory Department field to person table in the Test database.
- Investigated situation where some faculty who are on leave are not
included in the current appointments table. Identified rules used in
warehouse for determining who goes into "current" table and asked Personnel
to refine rules to resolve the problem.
- Helped investigate Oracle error on test warehouse database - the
problem is unresolved and may delay the upgrade of the production database.
- Helped investigate problem of duplicate entries in online
directory. Not a Data Warehouse problem.
- Send results of December open enrollment to appropriate medical carriers
and Benefits Office.
- Met with the Treasurer's Office to discuss data modeling and other
issues surrounding a new system for their office.
- Prepare ad for programmer/analyst II position within the Data Warehouse
team.
- Added new fields to Sales Contract and Customer tables.
- Continued data analysis of Student Payroll.
- Created the Material table in the warehouse (for sales orders
reporting by Tech Review).
- Continued to work on Settlement Rules data -- now in testing phase.
- Continued to work on Space Data -- now in testing phase.
Next Month's Plans (January 2002)
- Load Financial Aid Federal Work Study data.
- Move Graduate Admissions (applications and test scores) into
production.
- Begin looking at web based reporting tools.
- Begin conceptual data modeling with the SAP HR Team.
- Begin creating a prototype of Library data in the Data Warehouse.
- Complete addition of Directory Department field in production
database, conditional on Personnel looking at the test data and giving
their OK.
- Modify warehouse load of appointments to include the missing
faculty. Again, conditional on Personnel's defining new business rules for
determining which appointments can be considered "current".
- Assuming database services can fix the Oracle error mentioned
above, schedule & coordinate the upgrade of the production Oracle database
from version 7.3.4 to 8.1.6.
- Look at possibility of putting a dynamic GL Account report on the web.
- Move Legal Reporting into production.
- Put Settlement Rules data into the warehouse.
- Roll out new Space Data.
- Continue to work on Student Payroll data.
