This month's accomplishments (October 2001)
- Enabled certificate acquisition for IE 5.5 or later
- Posted web pages with instructions on getting MIT CA and MIT Personal
certificate with IE
- Solicited for testing
- Checked with BLT for readiness to support certificates on IE
Issues encountered
- We have uncovered (thanks to Mike Sherman's test report) a problem with
IE certificates and SAPweb. In further testing the SAPweb issue, we also
uncovered a problem with RolesWeb. As a result, we are holding off on the
wide spread announcement of the change as we investigate further the issues.
- Problem with NT 4.0 getting MIT CA in the same way as the other versions
of Windows - resolved with documentation
Things to do next month (November)
- Further investigate the SAPweb and RolesWeb issues
- Solicit for more thorough testing based on the bugs found and caution the
use of IE for SAPweb and RolesWeb until we can resolve the issues
- Prepare an announcement for later on in Nov
