Project Name: Enterprise Printing Delivery Project
Team Members: Mary Ellen Bushnell, Rocklyn Clarke, Lynne Durland &
                   Dave Lambert
Report Date: 11/05/2001
Project Notebook: http://web.mit.edu/is/delivery/enterprint/

Accomplishments for the past period:
- Completed a disk sizing review; sent disk increase request to ASST
- Worked with Dan to implement missing accounting reporting function
- EAST transition interview rendered moot by change in plan for managing
IPM; it's been decided to move IPM servicing to ASST
- Miki agreed to add .htaccess mods to MIT Apache distribution
- Made preliminary changes to dclprfilter and printcap to support EP1
and EP12; this work will allow IPM to print duplex for incoming
simplex files and allow EP1 to be moved to IPM control
- Set up skeleton application web pages for maintenance and sysadmin use
- Made further improvements and corrections to operator and BLT/HD
documentation; waiting for feedback from BLT
- Drafted web pages (instructions) for general users of Central Print
- Finished time testing E19 3160; poor performance was due to bad
  connection negotiations between the RS6000 & Cisco ethernet switch;
port on switch was manually set to match RS6000; upgraded microcode
  in E19 3160

Goals for the coming period:
- Work with ASST to configure new disks
- Print the Monthly GL Statements if the disk is installed on IPM in time
- Finish implementing print queues fss1, ep1, and ep12; move EP1 to
IPM from Athena Print Services (carryover)
- Finalize web pages for maintenance and sysadmin use
- Implement General Ledger print queue restrictions
- Get completed .htaccess mods in MIT Apache distribution from Miki
- Wrap up Rocklyn's membership in the Enterprise Printing Delivery Team
- Tweak operator & BLT/HD documentation as required
- Continue to work on end user instructions (web pages); add entries
  to Stock Answers
- Write article for i/s
- Get test server and licenses in place correctly (carryover)
- Continue customer discussions wrt IPM rollout & network based
  mainframe printing (ongoing)

Issues:
While a decision has been made for IPM servicing to live in ASST, no
resources are available for the work. This issue needs to be resolved
before Printdel can turnover the ongoing support of IPM.
