Project Name: Online Credit Card Processing - ClearCommerce
Project Leader: Lorraine Rappaport
Report Date: 9/7/2001
Project url: http://web.mit.edu/is/delivery/ccard

Accomplishments Past Period:
- Verizon installed the leased line (!!!). DOST worked with First Data to
test connectivity with the leased line and ISDN backup.
- Project team met with sponsors, several IS directors, and other key
people from ASST, NetOps, and CAO to review security risks and
requirements, discuss plans for the pilot, and agree on next steps. The
sponsors reinforced their commitment to this project and we got approval to
proceed with the pilot.
- ASST identified and began set-up of the server hardware.
- Tentatively scheduled onsite application installation, testing, and
training by ClearCommerce (the company) for Oct. 9 and 10.
- Returned loaner prototype server hardware and reinstalled ClearCommerce
Hosting Engine on another machine. Attempted to upgrade software version
to 4.1.3 with painful results.
- Leaders for Manufacturing site event registration site -- using ShopSite
and CyberCash -- went live.
- Received inquiry from MIT Press regarding options for providing a secure
online ordering process.
- Received inquiry from Sloan Leadership Forum about establishing a
merchant account for internet sales.

Goals for Next Period:
- Complete installation and configuration of hardware, OS, and database
- Complete other pre-installation steps for ClearCommerce's arrival
- Work with Alumni to prepare for pilot
- Work with MIT Press and Sloan Leadership Forum to understand their needs
and identify options.

Issues:
Nothing new
