Project Name: Online Credit Card Processing - ClearCommerce
Project Leader: Lorraine Rappaport
Report Date: 2.1.2001
Project URL: http://web.mit.edu/is/delivery/ccard
Accomplishments Past Period:
- Signed license agreement for ClearCommerce Hosting Engine software
- Arranged for delivery of the ClearCommerce software
- Coordinated with First Data to start the ball rolling for acquiring leased
line
- Validated plan for installing software, first on a test machine to determine
sizing and security requirements
- Drafted requirements for spreadsheet upload
- Drafted documentation for merchants to familiarize them with the various
existing and future software solutions, provide quick-links to relevant vendor
documentation, etc.
- Installed ShopSite store for Sloan Alumni Reunions. Sloan is building this
store. Our team is providing technical support. Met with Sloan Alumni
Relations to set up CyberCash account and discuss operational requirements for
maintaining an e-commerce site with ShopSite and CyberCash.
- Installed and evaluated version ShopSite 5.0, specifically to determine how
well it adapts to use for event registrations. Provided input to ShopSite for
desired enhancements to the next version (at their request!).
Goals for Next Period:
- Receive ClearCommerce software.
- Install ClearCommerce software on a test server. Determine production
requirements and order hardware, if necessary.
- Begin to get hands-on, in-house experience with ClearCommerce software,
including its features, ease of installation and configuration, support
requirements, etc.
- Finalize requirements and order for leased line to First Data
- Continue to support Sloan in developing the Sloan Alumni Reunions site, as
needed.
Key Learnings:
- A few of the vendors that we considered (and rejected) early in this project
have recently either gone out of business or are in serious financial
trouble. The industry is extemely volatile right now.
Issues:
- Nothing new
Team Dynamics:
- Fine
