Sorry for the delay; I sent this to `deliver@mit.edu' by mistake the
first time.
Project Name: Linux/Athena
Project Leader: Thomas Bushnell
Report Date: July 21, 2000
Submitted By: Thomas Bushnell

Accomplishments:
We have completed the initial release of the Linux/Athena Pilot and
then phased it into the normal Athena release process for Athena 8.4.
At this point there are ten cluster workstations running Linux/Athena
and two quickstations in the quickbowl.
Many others have begun using the release as well, both in its standard
and layered forms.
Documentation changes for standard Athena documents to accomodate
Linux/Athena is proceeding by documentation team, and Linux/Athena
will be part of the new Private Workstation Owners' Guide.
Goals:
The official Linux/Athena Delivery effort should probably be
officially closed as a separate project, as it is now fully integrated
into the normal Athena release procedure. The following important
work still remains to be done:
1) Installation of the standard version on SCSI disks is not
supported.
2) Technical work for the LLAMA licensing models has not been begun,
because approval has not been receieved for those models.
