Accomplishments past period:
- Performed check-in with project sponsors
- IMAP introductory documentation completed
- IMAP configuration documentation completed (includes NS as well as
general info. for other e-mail clients)
- Eudora and mh to Netscape Messenger migration documention completed
- IMAP @ MIT web pages completed with links to above documentation
- Continued coordination with the Software Release Team re. Netscape
v.4.74 release
- Ongoing consultation with IS Apps Group re. IMAP
- Scheduled Training & Pubs resource for updating Athena web pages to
reflect availability of IMAP and Netscape Messenger
Goals for the coming period:
- Perform additional check-in with Project Sponsors (Theresa and Dennis)
- Obtain comments from Delivery Team members on completed documentation
and incorporate into final version
- Development of IMAP Quick Start
- Work with Help Desk and Athena Consulting to formulate IS staff and IT
Partner training plan
- Draft proposed IMAP announcement for review by project sponsors
- Follow-up with Barbara Goguen re. Help Desk email coordinator/focal
point and NS support agreement
- Complete changes to Athena web pages re. IMAP and Netscape Messenger
(may continue into September)
Issues:
- Continue to coordinate closely with the Software Release Team
Additional comments:
- We continue to make good progress and remain on-target for October
2nd completion date
- Project sponsors confirmed that our initial IMAP service will not
include official support for Eudora; this means that NS Messenger will
be our official recommended and supported e-mail client for IMAP and
Eudora for POP
