Accomplishments Past Period:
* Received and installed new hardware for E40 portion of the backup system.
* Recabled SAN system in E40 to accomodate backup system.
* Created fiber network of ATL-based tape drives in E40.
* Upgraded OS patches on E40 SAP systems for new hardware.
* Received hardware for W91 portion of the backup system.
* NetBackup training completed
* Defined initial NetBackup configuration
* Started NetBackup test plan
Goals for the Coming Period
* Install and configure hardware for W91 portion of the backup system
* Recable SAN system in W91
* Create fiber network of ATL-based tape drives in W91.
* Install OS patches on W91 SAP systems for new hardware
* Install NetBackup in E40 and W91
* Setup initial configuration in E40
* Complete initial backup and restore testing in E40
* Start training and documentation
* Convert E40 SAP systems backup to NetBackup
* Start initial configuration in W91
Issues:
* As we suspected last month, unknown hardware arrival dates have delayed
the installation of the hardware in W91. Fortunately, we are planning
on starting the implementation in E40 so this has not had a big effect
on the project timeline.
* What has had an effect on the project timeline is the configuration of
equipment that we have not used previously. We have had to reschedule
consulting services in order to accomodate the additional time required.
