Just to confirm that we will meet tomorrow at 10 in N42-286.
Agenda from previous message below.

Thanks, see you then.

Everyone,
As you know, we run into periodic conflicts with the Delivery team
leaders meetings (Bob's group meets every third Friday and Discovery has
been trying to meet every second Friday). Last week was the Delivery Team
Leaders meeting.
I would like to convene a Discovery Team Leaders (and, really,
anyone who would like to join the discussion) for this Friday, Sept. 18,
from 10 - 11:30.
I would like to put two things on the agenda:

1. Discussion about an alternative meeting time in order to avoid the
periodic conflicts.
2. Discussion about the message Jim sent to Infosys capturing input and
feedback from staff regarding Mission/Purpose and Strategies for
Information Systems. This is one avenue of input for the five year
planning process now underway.

I invite you to meet with me to review the points Jim has captured below
and to talk with me about your perspective and further inputs. The five
year plan core team - Brenda Gillingham, Mike Barker, and Jeff Pankin are
beginning a data gathering phase, and I would like to use this time to
insure that input I am able to contribute captures and reflects your
contributions.

Thanks very much. Hope to see you on Friday.

Memorandum to: Information Systems

About one month ago, I wrote inviting your participation in developing
the Information Systems Five-Year Plan for FY 2000 to 2004. A number of
you wrote providing helpful responses to the two questions I posed:

   1. What is the purpose of Information Systems at MIT?

   2. What strategies -- deliberate plans to deliver value -- should IS
       pursue in its work?

This email provides a summary of the responses I received. In
developing this summary, similar responses were combined. Your feedback
on the summary as well as additional comments are welcome.

The next step in our process to develop the Five-Year Plan will take
this input along with other information on IS vision, mission, purpose,
and strategy and result in draft statements of purpose and the
strategies we propose to take to fulfill those purposes. The process
for taking this next step as well as for completing the plan will be
discussed at ITLT tomorrow.

I do appreciate the responses that I received in the initial phase of
the planning process. There will be additional opportunities to provide
input as we continue to develop the FY 2000 to 2004 plan.
