Andy & Co, there is a variant of the standardized web server idea that I'd
like to keep on the agenda. At a recent ITIT meeting, the issue of
providing a better web infrastructure also was discussed. I was asked to
collect some information like:

1. What are the Delivery/Discovery applications that need a better Web
infrastructure and/or need to be "webified".

2. For each:
 Does it use a database?
What tool is used to talk to the database?
 Type and Size?
 Read-only or write?
 Real-time vs Batch updates?
 Sensitivity (e.g. security requirements)?
Who would likely do the work?

I'd like to approach it by first discussing the components, tools, and
support people think is adviseable. Then identify any additional questions
for the list above. Then one of us will put together a simple
questionnaire to get the data ITIT requests. This data should be useful for
the standardized web server discussions as well as related planning
exercises.

Thanks, Bob
