This evening I received the following from Al Weis. I do not feel
comfortable responding to Al's interest in having me identify the
mid-level(s). I suspect they are reading this list and therefore if they
so choose would identify themselves. I will follow this by reposting
Al's private replies to the list.

SUBJECT: [cook@tmn.com (Gordon Cook): mid-level doubts]
  MESSAGE from =uunet!ans.net!weis 03-JAN-92 14:27
  Gordon,
I hope you encouraged your contact from the mid-level to try to reach us
again. I'd like very much to know why he or she is having problems
getting answers. If you wouldn't feel uncomfortable about it, you can
pass his/her name and number on to me.

As for open discussion, I've been answering privately, those notes that
you directed only to me. I have no objections if you put my responses on
 com-priv.

  Al

Al one reason that I think it ESSENTIAL to hear the mid-level's side of
things is that I got a note on Friday from a mid-level saying that they'd
like answers to the very questions I was raising and had tried but been
unable to get them from you all. Today i had similar feedback from a
 second mid-level.

What's wrong with open discussion? Try it. It might work!
