Yes, but my understanding is that what Apple is promoting for schools and
libraries has little to do with the Internet and quite a lot to do with
proprietary protocols and technologies. Do, please, tell me I am wrong.

The reason for having libraries connected to the INTERNET is easy to explain.
INFORMATION. That is their whole stock and trade.
Cutting it down to a thinner slice, Where do you go to read a newspaper you
don't subscribe to?? The Public Library. So why doesn't the Public Library
have NEWS, that greatest of all electronic newspapers??

The reasons are there, all it really takes is showing the librarians what it
	is all about.
I, for one, applaud Apples intent to use wireless technology for this task. I
have long touted wireless LAN technology as being very useful both for inter-
connecting libraries and also schools, because of the close proximity of these
	services, especially in metropolitan areas.
Not everyone is going to need (or want) a 10 Mbit INTERNET connection. Lets
leave no stone unturned in applying technology to all these potential customers.
