"IBM will migrate Quotron's T-1 and T-3 backbone to the IBM
Information Network, a public value-aded net, and assume
responsibility for managing the low-speed tail circuits going
to customer sites as well as the low-speed leased lines
connecting the exchanges to Quotron's two main data centers,
[Quotron CEO Max] Gould" said.
As part of the deal, Quotron's also porting their proprietary
software to the RS/6000.
I'd be interested in any speculation if/when an IBM Information Network
connection to ANS CO+RE will be in place, seems like you could break
in some new services that way. Tho given recent T-3 backbone
reliability I wouldn't want to bet my real-time trading operations
on data going over that net...
