Some of you have been kind enough to observe that I confused venerable
mid-western universities and moved Larry Landweber from the University of
Wisconsin to the University of Michigan.
Sorry about that. Larry was and is at UWisc.
Best I can figure is that I was flashing back to my Chicago childhood,
when visits to Wisconsin meant doing without margarine, which was illegal
in the dairy state of Wisconsin. They had 'last margarine' stands on
the Illinois side of the border.
None of which, of course, was Larry's fault.
