Let me risk showing that I may utterly have misunderstood the ANS
commercial pricing rules and the discussions about them on this list.
from reading the comments from FTP Software I get the impression that when
a mid level gateways to ANSnet that the cost of the gateway is incremented
by a sum of dollars for every commercial comapny connected to that
network. the more commercial members the higher the cost? The increment
is dependent on the bandwidth of the commercial connection? Why does the
figure of $2,000 come to mind?

Now suppose the CIX were to wish to buy a gateway attachment to ANSnet?
They would be charged an increment for every commercial member? Howmany
do they have between them? 200? 300? More? Seems like the cost would
 be VERY expensive.

Anyone wish to comment on whether my understanding is accurate? If it is
does anyone see any implications and wish to comment on them?
