Though I don't represent anybody, I'd like to point out that most
universities would be extremely upset as well. The computing
departments would have to hire accountants; they'd have to probably go
back to having [funny]money on students' accounts, which would be a
giant step backwards. (Or do most schools still do this?
Northwestern, where I went to undergrad, tossed that out with their
VAX; and I haven't seen it here at all--but these schools may be
slightly atypical. :-) In any case, usage-based charges would inhibit
schools with money-based accounts from giving it up.)
