Dave -
I am emphasizing the area of business uses of the network both in my
consulting practices and in the series of workshops that I am conducting
across North America.
As to specific uses, there are hundreds - ranging from software companies
that use the net to exchange code amongst their remote development sites to a
travel company that is displacing a $200,000 a year TYMNET bill for remote
dumb terminal access to a central mainframe. There are many more.
The bottom line is this: how does the organization either reduce expenses,
increase revenues, or otherwise enhance the organization's mission?
