Subject: Re: Jacking in from "The Envelope Please" port: From Brock N. Meeks
No matter how you slice it this is a "save your butt deal". NT has been
dealing with MCI for a long time and the NSF knew it. The NSF & MCI
shared information that was not shared with the other bidders. This
places those bidders in an un-fair comp. advantage situation. That along
is grounds for a dismissal. Don't make it sound like Sprint is a porr
loser, they are a DAMN MAD loser and rightly so !
NT & MCI have been in bed together for along time. NT is a foreign
corporation and even with NAFTA certain questions about their business
mix with MCI require answers? Did NT buy their way into the American vBNS?
Yes! Why? When? With who's blessing? Were documents/info from other
contractors supplied to MCI ? Alot of us want to know. Were the telco's
left out on purpose? Were the NAP'S awarded on the basis of a second
prize relationship?
The questions go on and on. I go on record as saying MCI - NSF will beat
the Sprint protest. It was filed in a poor manner and not in a timely
fashion. Conclusions were drawn based on a lack of understanding. Does a
technical error on the part of Sprint mean the rest of us have to live
with this ? I think not.
Where does policy direction on this come from.... I submit from
Al Gore to Mike Nelson to Steve Wolff. No one in the government would be
stupid enough to act alone in such a manner. Well, O. North is gone now,
isn't he ?
Sorry for the harsh words but, it really is a question of who has bigger
balls!
Yes, people I am blunt. But, thats D.C. - Try it and if you can pull it
off great !
Later...I am still trying to die with the most toys!
