It would seem that the Superhighway is in about the same shape as the
Denver Intl. Airport. Frozen. The GAO has until July 6, 1994 to render a
decision in the matter of a PROTEST filed by Sprint on the pre-award
announcement of the vBNS deal to MCI. The Denver airport no longer has an
opening date and service on the debt is $500,000 a day. The former mayor
of Denver (now head of the dept of transportation) is the one who started
this whole mess. I know its off the subject but, I hear he wants to take
the FAA private ! What a deal.
I think its time we start "NEXT NET" the road that bypassed America's
Electronic Superhighway. With "NEXT NET" you would always be sure of what
you wre getting...No AUP's , no regulations , just everyone for their own
interest. All networks would inter-connect for one reason - POWER. Who
knows this concept might just work.
