Thanks for e-mailing the EFF Platform. Received it OK. I will comment after I have read it carefully.
I think we have pretty well established that we disagree on regulation. I don't know what else to say, except that I hope the side of you that doesn't like regulation wins out.
Regarding the Cable companies' commitment to two-way and your charge that some of us don't know what we are talking about: I have worked in telecomm for over 15 years; I first started talking to cable companies about two-way (at their instigation) in 1981; They were committed then, too.
That's one of the great promises of wireless. It can provide the reverse lanes. I agree with Bill Frezza: the Cable Co.s and telcos won't do it--they are just trying to prolong their own existence.
As one entrepreneur put it, the big guys can't lead the revolution. They not only carry too much baggage, they don't possess the discipline to drive costs down significantly further.
