No, I think this is about organizations who charter tour busses to
our public commons without addressing matters of ground rules
clearly, e.g., no littering, no shouting in the library 'quiet'
areas, no plucking the flowers or feeding the bears... and who don't
include enough camp counselors or tour guides to handle things,
don't make sure their busses can park without making ruts in the lots,
etc. And bringing vast numbers of people. Ask the folks down in
the Virginia suburbs how they feel about the proposed Disney park
relative to their existing infrastructure, or towns where developers
built 1,000-people developments w/o worrying (well, thinking about)
the impact to local roads, schools, sewers, etc.
And it's also about a piece of our world that's growing faster
than we can figure out how to steer it. Mm, think I'll go sell
cars to everyone in New Jersey for $100 bucks (I had a car like that
once :-( ) without making sure they're qualified drivers, and then
put them on the road in your home town. Oh, and we're going to have a
parade, too; OK if we park and sell hot dogs from your lawn?
DPD, who didn't get his Green Visa Card but wonders if they've
got a MasterCard :-(
