I see that this thread has generated more than a little discussion. Here's
my nickel's worth:

I take issue with Kelly Gibbs assertion that the inet is nothing but a
'junkyard' of information.  Joseph Stroup makes *the* valid point when
he says that 'One must be selective'.  Unless you take the time to learn
how to use the available tools (WAIS, WWW, gopher, Archie, ftp, etc.),
there's very little chance you'll have any success at information
harvesting.  Tapping into the information flow and filtering out the
grit requires a certain amount of effort.  I don't expect anyone to drop
this stuff in my lap and besides, I kind of like the hunt.  My suggestion
to Kelly is to either get with it or take a hike.  And as for govt. controls
and the *clipper* chip - you've gotta be out of your *&% mind!  Do yourself
a favor Kelly - take about an hour and use WWW to browse through some of the
available info. of clipper.  And THINK about...
