Gee Glenn, I'm really sorry that your notes tempt people to explain
basic things to you, perhaps there's a reason.

Inasmuch as anything that costs money does, which was my point. I'd
imagine the fact that cisco charges for their routers and the phone
companies their leased lines and the landlords their office space and
the staff their salaries works AGAINST (sic) those goals just as well,
no?
You cannot argue against a fee based solely on needs, it doesn't make
sense IMHO. If you believe the fee is unjustified based on what it
charges for, or the fee is extracted due to some unfair coercion of
some sort, then by all means that is worthwhile discussing.
It's just sort of hard to see your point. Either the costs that money
represents are there, or someone else oughta go into the business, or
someone is stopping them from going into business, or something.
It's very hard for me to understand someone plucking out one out of
probably 50 expenses one might encounter when trying to set up an ISP
or ISP-like service and say that *this* is the expense that's
intolerable and holding up the works.
Anyhow, this sort of thing is getting tiresome. We've been around this
corner before and you seem to have some idea that bargaining the price
of various internet-related expenses on com-priv is likely to be
either interesting or productive. Although some of us try to engage in
the discussion it's really difficult to understand who you are
appealing to exactly. I assure you, I don't set CIX prices or
policies.
