No. On the contrary, there is a problem with your argument. Simply
because *you* don't know how to take advantage of all the fiber out there
to get decent T1 prices doesn't mean it can't be done. I didn't say prices
would be going down later this year. I said the *results* of the fact that
you can get cheap T1s if you know how will be seen later this year in work
I know is going on that will take advantage of this. The telco stuff is not
my area. However I know people working on this stuff, and I know that
people will hear about projects taking advantage of this fact later this
year. You may believe me or not, it doesn't matter, the results will become
apparent later this year and the easiest thing to do is defer judgement. Or
if you are trying to buy long-haul lines spend some time researching this
instead of taking the prices the sales reps give you (never pay retail some
people say). T3 I was just speculating on based on what I heard and I may
be wrong about it but I would assume even if it is still very expensive it
is probably availible cheaper than most people are paying. Unused fiber
they aren't making money on isn't doing them any good.T3 may very well be
different. I acknowledge that isn't my area and is open to dispute.
Regardless, the local loop parts of the T1 should be the most expensive
parts if you've done the right thing, based on concrete quotes I have heard
gotten for some long haul T1s (which were amazingly different from the
quotes they were getting initially the way most people would go about
trying to purchase a T1 line). You are free to doubt, I'm not in a position
to tell you how to do this, it isn't my area. Thats all I can say on the
subject, its tangential to the current topic and I can't provide any
further evidence at the moment. If I am able to provide further information
in the future to allow people to verify this I will, and I will avoid
further comment until I have more information, I made a mistake getting
into this particular area since I don't have more information to provide,
I'm sorry.
*Regardless* of what it costs however, the point that if there is a market
opening there it is likely that some entity will step in to fill it.

I wish people would stick to rational arguments instead of comments like
this, if you can't rationally argue something it is easy to just hand wave
and say "what crap". Arguments by authority "I must be right since I've
done ...", without giving a rational argument that can be attacked don't
wash and neither do "I don't agree so you must be wrong but I won't say
about what". Even people that truly are experts can be wrong, and those new
to a field might see that the emperor has no clothes based on experience in
other fields and seeing things from a fresh perspective.

Why? So I can be personally attacked and rational debate can be abandoned?
Either what I am saying makes sense or it doesn't, who I am is irrelevant
to a rational dispute. If I'm wrong, (which I may be with the T3 point as
I've acknowledged that is out of my area), then attack that.
