In accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (Public Law 92-463,
as amended), the National Science Foundation announces the following
meeting.
 

     Name:  Federal Networking Council Advisory Committee
 

     Date and Time:  April 5, 1994; 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and
     April 6, 1994; 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
 

     Place:  Room 375.1/375.3, National Science Foundation,

     Purpose of Meeting:  The purpose of this meeting is for the
     Advisory Committee to provide the Federal Networking Council (FNC)
     with technical, tactical, and strategic advice, concerning
     policies and issues raised in the implementation and deployment
     of the National Research and Education Network (NREN) Program.
 

     Agenda: FNCAC Charter update, status of NSF backbone network
     services, NREN cost accounting and recovery, NREN security
     policy, education, and addressing.  [See draft agenda below.]

     Luncheon and Refreshments:  Lunch and refreshments will be catered
     and there will be a charge for those who wish to participate.  A 

     registration form is below.  Forms must be returned to Lynn Behnke
     by March 31, 1994.

Attendees who wish to have either a catered lunch or refreshments provided for  
them at the FNCAC Meeting, must indicate this on the registration form below.   
A fee will be charged to cover the cost of the food and beverages, including  
coffee, for those who wish to participate in lunch or refreshments.

The refreshments will include coffee all day plus breakfast  pastries and  
breads in the morning.  The cost for refreshments only will be approximately  
$4.00 per person per day. A boxed lunch will be served that will include a  
sandwich (ham, turkey, roast beef, tuna salad, or chicken salad), chips,  
cookies, and soft drink.  The cost for lunch only will be approximately $7.00  
per person per day.  The fee for both refreshments and lunch will be  
approximately $11.00 per person per day.  NOTE:  The meeting may end prior to  
2:00 p.m. on the second day.  Please take this into consideration when ordering  
lunch on the second day.  If you order the lunch on the second day, it will be  
provided regardless of when the meeting ends.

Fees for food and beverages will be collected at registration on April 5.   
Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.  Please pay in CASH.  NO CREDIT CARDS.  Only  
attendees who have paid may participate in lunch or refreshments.

and/or refreshments, by March 31, 1994, to the e-mail address or fax number
