************************************
The Information Policy Office of the Minnesota Department of
Administration has established an experimental electronic mail
distribution list. It will be used to distribute information
on current Minnesota efforts in the area of electronic access to
government information and services.
It will contain releases on the "Access Minnesota" initiative and
updates on actions during the legislative session. It is likely
that there will be a flurry of activity in this area over the next
few weeks. This list will cover legislative actions and inform you
of hearings when possible. Those who are interested in closely following
this legislation are encouraged to contact the legislature. House
Information can be reached at (612)296-2146 or (800)657-3550 or
Senate Information at (612)296-0504.
This broadcast list was launched on March 17, 1994 and there
have been close to 200 subscribers in its first week. This
is a low volume list with perhaps 2 or 3 messages a week during
the legislative session. Please forward this description to
others who may be interested in this initiative via e-mail,
fax, or print form. While electornic communication allows us to
increase the number of people who receive information rather
rapidly, we need to ensure that those individuals and organizations
that are interested and do not have e-mail, gain access to this
information.
