Tools such as Mosaic (IN particular, in fact) can and are operated all
the time using "login accounts"
In fact, software to do this with Mosaic was just recently released.
There are also in development many new tools which provide features
similar to Mosaic, by having the "host" simply reformat requests
and send them along to servers all over the Internet.

In my opinion, this is JUST the same as, for instance, using Socks
or Term,... or communicating using Appletalk or IPX and then having
the packets translated by a gateway. And ALL of those ought to
be seen as equivalent to "DIRECT PACKET ACCESS" to the Internet.

I wouldn't be surprised to find major online services doing what Netcom
is doing / about to do with their "front-end" for the Internet...
and I want to see them treated the same way I'd be if I let my
next door neighbor connect to me.
