A switched 56 line in California is $45 per month. You can get an ISDN line
for $28 per month in California. One ISDN line is the equivalent of two
switched 56 lines. ISDN also interoperates with switched 56.

ISDN tariffs in the rest of the country range from $30 per month up to about
$50 a month in most places.
