    describing "a gigabit is a transmission rate of a billion bits 
    per second" may be useful to you, but I would venture a guess
    that most of Joe's readers would not gain much by such a statement.

actually, i agree with this. that definition is not without basis.

    Overall, the piece was a well-balanced piece of reporting.  It would
    be a shame to have this list degenerate again into another batch of 
    shameful name-calling that we witnessed in the previous forest fire.

while it certainly was not as bad as others, the sensationalism in it is
disappointing, it took a reasonable story, with reasonable points, and made
me wonder what other information it contained had been slanted for effect.

just out of curiousity,  when was your last article, carl, or are you only
writing books?
