Which OS?  I am assumeing yiu are refering to SunOS

on my systems I simply add the line:

	echo "ip_forwarding/W-1" | adb -wk /vmunix /dev/mem

to my rc.local.

While we are an the subject I would also recomend adding the following als=
o:

    echo "nfs_portmon/W1" | adb -wk /vmunix /dev/mem
