(http://www.novell.com/padlock) thing is about, since Novell is not only
vague in the issues, but never acknowledged Adept's findings.

I'm inclined to think it's a different issue, since the Padlock update is for GroupWise 5.5 Enhancement Pack, and GroupWise 6 only - They tested the issue on regular Groupwise 5.5 (i.e. not the EP version).
