Hi,

Regarding credit for the original, I believe my copy (obtained in August

1999) is credited to ttol@efnet/ttol@james.kalifornia.com. The companion
utility smbquery is credited to wumpus@BitSmart.com.

The whisper.tar that I found in the "wild" contained:
 -rwxr--r-- 1 root root 15244 Dec 26 1997 smbquery*
 -rwxr--r-- 1 root root 7821 Dec 26 1997 whisper*
 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1711 Dec 26 1997 whisper.txt

I suppose I should have looked at these binaries earlier..
