  I've tried it on a few Linux machines, and I can't replicate those results.

  They're all running 2.2.12 (or higher) kernels...

  Also, just for shits and grins, I tried it on a few Win98 boxes, too,
and nothing.

  Are we sure this actually is a cross-platform DOS attack?
