Subject: Emmy downtime
Sun has identified that parts that need to be replaced on emmy and we
expect that the hardware will be fixed later this afternoon. Our guy in
W91 will need to check things out so he expects that it'll be tonight
before the machine can be turned over to Geac to finish their GMA
installation.
That means that tomorrow morning will be the earliest we'll be able to
begin to look at the data. More likely it'll be tomorrow afternoon.
With ALA coming up next week it seems unlikely that we'll be able to
make a fully-informed decision on whether to go live next Monday.
(We've essentially lost 3 days of testing already in an already tight
schedule.)
I think we need to push the live date back to July 5 or 6 to allow for
necessary testing and report development.
I would still like to get a reading on the actual conversion of data
before folks go to ALA so we can at least plan what we need to do.
How do other people feel about this?
