I know some of you already received this, but here's a list that Grant put
together and BOG looked at this afternoon. It's meant to cover the things
we're still working on with GEAC or those things for which we're awaiting
a response. Obviously there are many other things that we're working on
here at MIT that don't appear to involve work by GEAC. I thought you might
find it interesting, although I realize it's a bit cryptic in some of the
items.
We also discussed the need to identify those RFP items marked incorrectly
"operational" to forward to the Steering Group for use in conversations
with Geac about acceptance of the system or about going live with specific
modules. I know you're finding some of those in your RFP testing -- we
just need to keep track of them.
ACQ2 isn't meeting on 6/8 due to Director candidate meeting with Lib.
Council. Grant expects to receive the GMA2 tape on Monday, June 12, and
load it on June 13, as planned. Testing coordinators will hear more about
migration testing at your next meeting, I assume.
QUESTION: We've also been told we can schedule a meeting with Miriam Blake
at our convenience (in lieu of the aborted M. Ridgeway meeting). If you
like, I will contact her and ask about her availability for our 6/15
meeting time. Is that agreeable? or would you prefer finding another time
during that week or the next before ALA. This is assuming that you do
still want to meet with someone from Geac either for answers or bringing
her up to speed on what we need before going live.
Thanks, MGM

Here's an outline of the final hurdles as I currently see them before we
go live for discussion at BOG and then to use with Miriam and Ridgeway
for the project management transition.
