Here's the text for the Web document; I will soon give you a paper
copy that Anne Battis produced on FrameMaker. The OPAC group agreed
that a start-up supply similar to what you do for First Search fliers
would be useful. We will probably be making small changes from time
to time (as with First Search), so we don't wish to go wild! Thanks!

HOW TO USE BARTON, THE ONLINE CATALOG--ADVANCE VERSION

Barton includes records for materials acquired and cataloged by the
Libraries since 1963, many earlier works, and items on order. Barton
shows the location of an item and whether it is in the library,
charged out, or on reserve.

INTRODUCTORY TIPS
To select commands, use arrow keys or type directly at prompt.
Except for some of the additional searches, the system is not case
	sensitive and it ignores punctuation.
Brief help messages appear on screen; for more help, highlight
	command and press Enter.
To delete, press Ctrl-h if backspace key does not work.
If you see no menu or Option Bar, type terms or press Enter to escape.
Use a * to truncate at end or beginning (comput* for computer,
computing, etc.; *conductor for semiconductor, superconductor).
To move within a list of records or within a multi-page record, select
Backward or Forward from the Option Bar.
To move to a previous stage in your search, select Prior Screen from
	the Option Bar.
To obtain items by line number, select #Line from the
Option Bar and type 1 or 1-4 or 1,3,7.
To exit from dial-up session, return to Main Menu for instructions.
