Softbackup does not have patron registration built in to it.
What Anne and I came up with in outline form is:
1. Register patrons with some sort of paper form and assign them a
barcode. Charge out their books.
2. After the GMA is done and before we load the Softbackup transactions
we would register the patrons on Advance with their barcodes.
3. The Softbackup transaction download would find the patron at that
point and apply the charge.
4. I presume (but have not tested) that the download would flag any
transactions that did not find a patron.
Not doing something like this means that you couldn't charge books out
to new patrons during the transition or you would have to charge them
out manually.
