Just a quick note to y'all to tell you I have successfully searched for
and retrieved records from the new GEAC Advance system via Z39.50 using
Willow.

The next steps are:

Configuring GEAC so that the full range of searches are supported.
Obtaining GEAC software that has the latest Z39.50 functionality.
Adding to Willow required functionality for list browsing.
Adding to Willow required functionality for holdings and circulation status.
Adding to Willow required functionality for ignoring punctuation on search.
Perhaps improving GEAC Z39.50 performance. (It is consistently slower
than the OCLC FirstSearch experimental catalog. But it will be perceived
by users as faster than the old Barton.)
