As you may know, in less than two weeks the OCLC records we create will no
longer be destined for Barton-as-we-know-it (or GLIS), but instead will be
loaded directly into Barton-on-Advance. The last day of production intended
for GLIS is Saturday, May 13.
Since we will all have to use a new form of 949 with new codes in the $a
starting Monday, May 15, the Cataloging Team thinks it may be time to
schedule a wee bit of training. We've scheduled two sessions which will
both be pretty much the same, please sign up for one of them by replying
to this message or dropping a note on my desk.
Thursday, May 11th, 9:30-11am
Friday, May 12th, 12:30-2pm
In this session we will describe the process used to move records from
OCLC to Advance and the new aspects of the 949.
