I got some feedback and am sending a revised migration spec in the
following message. The only revision is to I.A. where I added details of
the "ocl7" to "ocm0" conversion. I'm not sure where along the way we lost
that, but if its not meant to be in this spec, we can remove it again.
I did not revise the loader spec, though I did get a question from Sam and
Jo about I.B.3. and I.B.4. They wondered why I had not specified that the
"1 match" should be 599bb match. I did not specifiy that because I really
mean for the "1 match" to be a single match on any of the criteria listed
in section I.A. The confusion arises because the whole text of I.B.3. & a.
& b. don't mention 599bb even though that's what they deal with (thus the
parenthetical explanation at the end of I.B.3.b.). It might make it easier
to understand what's going on once you notice that the first clause of
I.B.3.b., "If the existing 035 with prefix "ocm" does not match any of the
incoming 001 or 019 numbers...", can _only_ be true if the match was a
599bb match (otherwise, how did it meet the criteria set out in I.B.3.). I
tried other approaches to drafting this, but they were all more wordy, so
I've left it alone.
Oops. I just noticed that I should change the first "the" into "an" in
both I.B.3.a. and I.B.3.b. Sigh. I guess I'll send you a revision of that
as well, then.
Finally, I don't have any of the "Attachment" documents referenced in the
text. Who does? Will someone hand an official version of these specs off
to Grant on Monday? Should I print a pretty copy on Monday? If anyone
knows the answer to these questions, please chime in!
