Sarah asked me to pull together the final draft of the loader and
migration specs from the various sources (hers, mine, and Stephen's). This
proved to be more difficult than I expected and I made some changes along
the way, mostly to fit a consistent numbering scheme on the documents, but
every once in a while to clarify the logic of a point.

Please read these specs as closely as you can bear to read them. All the
migration stuff should now be separate from all the loader stuff.

In the loader document please pay special attention to section I.A. and
I.B. Most of the changes to structure that I made are in section I.B.
which is also where Sarah made changes in the draft she handed me.

In the migration document, sections III and IV are new. III simply makes
explicit the details of holdings migration. Note especially the completely
revised specs for the 866 in section III.B.2. I changed these when I
noticed (just a few hours ago) that the 866 supplied in the first GMA was
not at all "standard" and thus we could use a more natural set of
subfields. Feel free to compare this to what is in the current GMA1
database to see the difference. I also spec'd a second indicator of 0 for
the 866 since that is the MARC standard for a non-standard 866. Section IV
is Stephen's GMD spec, I had not read it before, if you haven't either
then you may want to pay particular attention this time around.

What you see should reflect our discussion yesterday. If you see any
problems, post them to the ad-cat list ASAP. Today (Friday) is our last
day to massage these documents.

Have fun!
...Eric

P.S. I should be in around 12:30, but BLC business will keep me busy until
around 4pm. Does anyone know exactly what we should do to pass along the
final drafts?
