The following comments may duplicate what others have said. These are things
that Christie and I found -- many deal with screen displays and our general
impressions about the system.
Basket: How do you print detailed records for citations? All it
gives you is title & author -- no location, no call number. Printing from
Detail: It uses a whole sheet for each title; that's even worse than what
users do on CDBarton.
When you get a list and ask for Detail on one title, depending on length
of entry, you may see one location and not realize that there are more
locations. (The numeral 1. before that location isn't really a clue, because
it will be present even if there is only one location.)
Can't limit by format. Can't search by music publisher number. (You know
that but we had to repeat it.)
Need to be able to go back and forth in a list; it is too clumsy to
click Detail, Close, highlight next one, repeat sequence, repeat.
When you see a list, it is impossible to tell if there is duplication; it
makes you want to print them all to compare them. You can't tell
from a basket, either; in fact, it's worse because there are no
locations and no call numbers. Box is too small.
Highlighting problems: When you have a list of titles, you cannot skip
around and highlight selectively. Once a title is highlighted in a basket,
you can't get rid of the highlighting except to close and select again.
When you ask for a detail display of an entire list, the display begins with
the last citation. As you Close, it moves up. This is quite obscure.
If you don't want selections alphabetized by title, how do you order them
by main entry?
We really need help screens.
