Here's a stab at some comments on GeoPac functionality (or, more
specifically, the lack thereof). More to follow. I welcome -- yea, I
crave -- your comments, clarifications, and suggestions.
RFP section 11.2.2.* -- as far as I can tell, GeoPac does not perform
the following searches:
Barcode number
Call number
OCLC number
ISBN
ISSN
LCCN
SuDocs number
Tech report number
Imprint (ie PUBLISHER)
Music publisher's number
SOMEBODY PLEASE SET ME STRAIGHT IF I'M WRONG.
11.2.3.3 requires that the system be able to perform a combined search
of any two or more indexed fields in the bib record. I don't believe
GeoPac does this.
Geac's response to 11.2.3.9 indicates that the system can perform a
combined search which includes a search in the call number; I'm unable
to make the system perform such a search.
11.2.5.* requires the system to qualify searches by various MARC fixed
fields; I'm unable to make this work.
11.3.5 asks that a uniform title, when present, precede the title
proper in any display. This does work, but I'm unable to get the full
display to show more than the $a of any 240 field. I'd love it if
Peter and/or Sam and/or other helpful soul could enlighten me here.
