Charlene, I don't have my notes handy, but my memory
is that the key issue with the prompts has to do with
authority hot keys. If we don't have the prompts for corporate
or conference (which we don't now have) names, there is a good
chance that the person keying in the order will end up
putting the wrong tag with the name heading when it is pulled
from the authority file. HOWEVER, I think we also said
at the meeting with Matt that if in terms of VOLUME, we have few
conference and/or corp. names, it might be worth accepting a certain
amount of error. From the serials side, I think we have enough
corp/conf. names that we'd want to keep the prompts, but if
we add in the mono volume, my impression is that keeping the
prompts makes much less sense.

I guess the bottom line is what percentage of all orders have
a corp/conf. name. And the other bottom line is how tricky it is
to get a corp/conf. name correct, with the correct tag from the
auth. file , with out the prompt. Can we try that out?
Is it easy to go back and forth between prompts and no prompts? Or
is this sort of set in stone?

Sorry to be so long-winded--I'm thinking out loud.Ellen
