> 6. What is a B.Index?
>
> The B.Index is the master index for Advance. It's the mechanism that
> indicates which MARC tags and subfields in the bibliographic record
> are indexed for searching. It defines which MARC fields are retrieved
> for each kind of search in the cataloging and OPAC functions. (For
> user-friendly versions of these definitions, see the list of MARC
> fields searched by Advance.) The B.Index also defines which MARC tags
> are subject to authority control.
