Transferring records in Advance

  While doing some receiving I came across something in the
documentation that may or may not have implications for tracking items
through the system.  Please see p.4-9 of the Acquisitions User Guide.
  No.3 discusses  the implications of setting the transfer flag to Y
or N at time of ordering.  I assume we would want the on order
information to transfer as soon as possible.  However, it appears that
if we do this, subsequent transfers of receipt information will not
transfer.  
  Unless I'm not mis-reading this,  on order information in cat. will
remain the same as now - record will say 'on order' until the item is
cataloged or processed for precat.  Do we care?  How does this relate
to barcoding upon receipt with regards to tracking a book through the system?  Should we discuss at our next meeting?
