Here are a couple of odd things I just ran across in searching:
1)I guess I should have realized it wouldn't work, but I accidentally
tried searching for a browse index author and a keyword title word. The
search was a=urban land institute and tw=project. I was looking for
their Project Reference File. The system just popped me into the
headings list for authors, but not exactly at Urban Land Institute. It
placed me at Urban Land Institute. Commercial and Retail Development
Council. It didn't offer any message indicating that I had searched in
an inappropriate way. This may be something we will have to point out
to readers as bad search construction.
2)When I searched periodical titles, I found that the brief and full
displays have empty location sections. Does anyone know if this is meant
to be? It certainly makes the record look as though we don't have the
item anywhere. On closer look, you see the information in the Holdings
field above, but, visually, this isn't a good presentation of
information. Also, in the holdings field information, the loan period
(ie. hourly 3) shows up. I thought the public wouldn't see those
circulation codes. They're misleading.
I sent trouble reports about the periodical displays, but wondered if it
bothered anyone but me.
