Maybe some of you already know this, but if you don't I thought I'd share-
I was trying to figure out if there was a way to search the opac from
the circulation menu, WITHOUT first having to go into checkout, bring up
a patron's record, then search from there. I tried to find anything in
the documentation that would indicate that this was possible, particularly
in the list of codes that can be input for particular functions. I couldn't
find any documentation or any code that would work. I asked
a couple of people and no one else knew. I also tried typing in at the
circulation menu codes which would seem to make sense, such as OPAC, CAT,
etc. and they didn't work. I mentioned this problem to Alan Rostoff
who sat down and tried a number of things and just on a whim typed SEARCH
at the circulation menu and - lo and behold! there's the opac.
So, if you find a need to search the opac and don't want to or have to do
so through a patron checkout screen, the secret word is SEARCH - thanks
to Alan.
