There is apparently a patch for the problem with 2.6 not using
/var/adm/loginlog: 105665-01. Thanks to Jeff Schave for pointing
me to this.

   Patch-ID# 105665-01
   Keywords: security loginlog invalid username
   Synopsis: SunOS 5.6: /usr/bin/login patch
   Date: Dec/16/97

BugId's fixed with this patch: 4086934
4086934 loginlog not updated when username is valid

The bug ID that I was given for the problem is different than the
bug ID reported as fixed by this patch, but it does appear to be
the same problem.

Apologies for the incorrect information earlier.

Ruth.
