	Howdy all,

The Obtuse Smtpd/Smtpfwdd daemons are a free implementation of
a store/forward smtp proxy/sendmail wrapper.

Version 2 is now in beta, and is available from
ftp://ftp.obtuse.com/pub/smtpd/beta/smtpd-2.0b6.tar.gz. I'd
like some beta testers.

For those of you familiar with version 1 of smtpd, version 2
adds the ability to optionally compile in support for checking and
allowing/denying messages based on the incoming connection source, and
the FROM: and RCPT: addresses in the smtp dialogue, or (new in beta 6)
the nameserver of any of the above. (You can say things like "relay
for anyone who uses XXX as a nameserver" or "don't take mail from
anyone who uses XXX as a nameserver")

The main purpose of the changes is to allow smtpd to act as an
effective nuisance filter, preventing unauthorized third party
relaying, punting spam, or making it difficult for users to forge
addresses/send out spam. If you don't like such features, disabling
them in the makefile ensures none of the new code even gets compiled
in.

	Thanks in advance,
	-Bob
